What is it?

It's an empty bag with hand painted and hand carved limbs. No place to attach a marionette's strings...Any ideas?

Up-cycling

Up-cycling is the process of converting a material into something of similar or greater value, in its second life. (Transforming old T-shirts into jewelry). These two up-cycled garments were created using T-shirts (T-cycling), a linen dress, and a blouse. The finished products are a maxi (back in style!) and a parisian dress.

The jewelry is made of old T-shirts, some with added baubles.

Sarah is also a talented knitter. Check out the beanie below, knitted for and modeled by Sting! Yes ThAT Sting. That makes another cool connection to the parisian dress above.

Last Days of Summer

It's been hotter at the shop than I ever remember it being. It's hot. It's dang hot. Usually we have a nice cross breeze running through the shop through our open back doors and open garage-style door at the front. Lately, though, I think we're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave. Up country at the farm we're starting to feel the hints of autumn in the air. It can't come soon enough for us!

One of Charlie's summer memories is having iced drinks from fat Buddha's. We found this smiling version at a garage sale over the weekend. Dunno about sipping a drink from an old man's belly!

Again with the bluegrass

This gorgeous little guitar (made in Spain) came in today. $550.00 new, our price $200ish. It's small, designed for a child, but the woman that brought it in used it because she's petite herself.

Do you Yelp!?

If you like Hawaii Consignment or buying used, consider writing a review on Yelp. Getting the word out will help everyone, the consigners, the shop, the customers, the environment (no energy used in manufacturing junk).
